Sims 3 mod conflictor
Is there a way that I can figure out why my game keeps crashing? I don't really know which mod is doing this, but I know there's a program that helps with stuff like this on Sims 4, so I'm wondering if there's one for Sims 3? Thanks in advance.

1. Delphy's Dashboard http://modthesims.info/d/387006 - detects conflicts, corrupt files, duplicates and sims 2 files.
2. Sims 3 Clean Pack Installer - can help you find corrupt stuff in sims 3 packs with multiple items, and quickly determine if a single item is a nuisance. You can uncheck corrupt files and resave the sims3.pack. http://modthesims.info/d/390235

Read the directions carefully. The programs are great tools and pretty user friendly.

This is where I would start:

remove your downloads folder and mods folder, custom music to a separate part of your computer - I do my desktop (if you have the space). Kiss your saved sims, library and saves goodbye, and pare down your installed worlds to one or two. If you can't do that, there is a real possibility that the one thing you can't let go of will continually screw up your game. I have backups (and I do mean backupS) of everything. I have a backup of my current game, a backup of everything I have downloaded, ever, minus the corrupt content I have found and deleted. I have a backup of mods that I have merged, I have backups of saved games... and so on.

rename your sims game: documents/ElectronicArts/The Sims 3.old

start your game. This will give you a brand new fresh folder for the Sims 3.

go into your documents/ElectronicArts/The Sims3.old and delete the old game. Once you delete this folder, everything within that you have not removed to another part of your computer is gone.

go forth and use these tools wisely.
